Stop Page Auto Refresh RRS feed

  • Question

  • I couldn't decide if this went here or in the development forum so I just guessed.  If I'm in the wrong spot - I apologize.

I have a set of users (quite a few) at dispersed geographical locations communicating over a 256 meg WAN.  When they open a document, the SharePoint page refreshes (by design of course) after they close the document.  The problem is, it takes 30 seconds for them to load the page.  Can I stop this refresh from happening?  If not, what can I do to speed things up for them so the page refresh doesn't take so darn long?  There are not images on the page - only documents and links - very simple.

    Would disk-caching help?
