Date format on Microsoft.com (and probably most other help pages etc.) RRS feed

  • I could not find a relevant place to post this comment so it may well be in the 'wrong' place.

My question is on date formats.

I was looking for the feature pack for SQL 2012 and was I reminded of something that has been bothering me forever.

    See this page for example

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29063

    Expand the 'Details'

Now the date format, is this 'US' or 'normal' date format?

    Really, I have no idea.

I'm pretty sure the US is really the only place on earth that uses the MM/DD/YYYY format, regardless it would be very nice to have a non-ambiguous format.

Is "Mar-06-2012" or similar really too much to ask for?
