Mirroring RRS feed

  • Hi All,

    We install the mirroring. After one month log file is full in mirror.

    So on that time what will do?

    Please suggested to me.

    1. Please make sure you first create a proper schedule to backup your transaction logs frequently.Not backing up transaction logs has caused your log file to grow this much.

    2. Its always not possible to backup log ( i assume your log must be big) because your disk might not have that much free space. If this is case unfortunately you have to break mirroring backup transaction logs shrink it again take transaction log backup and shrink it completely.

    3. After log file is shrink completely recreate the mirroring.

  • If log file is full in mirror, you need to try and shrink the log file in the primary server. If it is successful, this transaction will be carried forward to the mirror server through database mirroring and will be applied there. This would solve your issue.
