Control my C++ application with kinect RRS feed

  • Hi evrybody !! am new in kinect world so i wanna just ask  i have an application for kids but now after knowing Kinect i wanna controll it with kinect to make it more funny for them so i need to do it again from 0 level or i just need to add some lines just to related to kinect ( like control gestures ) thank you my friends and sorry if my question is dummy am noob :-p

  • A good place to start is, in particular the Programming Guide. Also from that page you can look at the Skeletal Viewer Walkthrough, which corresponds to sample installed at C:\Users\Public\Documents\Microsoft Research KinectSDK Samples\NUI\SkeletalViewer\CPP.

    By running sample and looking at the walkthrough to understand the code you should be able to figure out the basic things to do. After understanding how Kinect API works, you should be able to add appropriate lines of code to your existing application, rather than starting application development from scratch. However, you would need to implement gestures yourself, since Kinect SDK Beta does not expose gestures as part of API. There is a fairly long discussion on the subject of gesture recognition here:
