  • Hi,

    I got the below error while open my lightswitch HTML sample on VS2015.

    The "LSResourceGeneratorsTask" task failed unexpectedly.System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Unable to find root project file at this location: {0}File name: 'C:\Users\User1.000\AppData\Local\xxxx\LightSwitch\HTML\Sample' at Microsoft.LightSwitch.BuildTasks.Common.CommandLineBuildContainerFactory.GetRootProjectFile(String projectPath) at Microsoft.LightSwitch.BuildTasks.Common.CommandLineBuildContainerFactory.Create(String cacheDirectorySubPath, VsExportProvisionScope scope, IEnumerable`1 inputStreams, IEnumerable`1 serviceStreams, String projectPath, IEnumerable`1 externalDataSources, TaskLoggingHelper log) at Microsoft.LightSwitch.BuildTasks.Common.BuildTaskBase.EnsureCommandLineBuildContainer() at Microsoft.LightSwitch.BuildTasks.CodeGen.LSGeneratorsTask.RunGeneratorsInNonIdeScenario() at Microsoft.LightSwitch.BuildTasks.CodeGen.LSGeneratorsTask.ExecuteCore() at Microsoft.LightSwitch.BuildTasks.CodeGen.LSResourceGeneratorsTask.ExecuteCore() at Microsoft.LightSwitch.BuildTasks.Common.BuildTask.Execute() at Microsoft.Build.BackEnd.TaskExecutionHost.Microsoft.Build.BackEnd.ITaskExecutionHost.Execute() at Microsoft.Build.BackEnd.TaskBuilder.<ExecuteInstantiatedTask>d__26.MoveNext()

    Please help me to resolve this issue.

  • Hi Gobal,

    If you want to build and run the sample, these are the steps, please try it again, and check whether it helps.

    1. Download the sample ZIP file to your computer, right-click on the ZIP, select properties, and Unblock the file.
    2. Then extract the contents of the ZIP and double-click on the .SLN file to open Visual Studio.
    3. Important: From the BUILD menu, select "Rebuild Solution" to generate the necessary files to run the sample.
    4. After you rebuild, press F5 to run.
