External access to a virtual machine RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a virtual network that has a domain controller and two other IaaS machine joined to this domain. I also have a VPN device connected to an on-premise network.

I have created a port on one of my IaaS machines and would like to connect to it externally via that port number. So for example, on the IaaS machine if I have a WCF service hosted in IIS, I would have a local address of http://localhost:5555/MyService/Service.svc.

To expose this externally, looking in the portal, I see a dns of 'mydns.cloudapp.net' and my machine Host Name is 'mymachinename'.  So what does this address look like externally?

    http://mymachinename.mydns.cloudapp.net:5555/MyService/Service.svc ???
