Windows tablet - Is there anything I can use instead of tabs other than Pivot? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi my name is David I am a User Experience Designer and I work for a  banking software company and I am designing for the Surface Pro 3.

I am creating a hybrid Windows design not a native Windows design, which needs to look like Windows but more or less has to have the same functionality as our iOS tablet design.

In the iOS design we are using tabs and I was wondering if there is anything out there in Windows designs which I could use which is similar to tabs othre than the Windows pivot function?

    Many thanks David.

  • The pivot is probably the closest on Windows Phone, but it isn't available on Windows 8.1.

If you want a natively Windows look then take a look at the Hub control. If not then you can still use tabs in your design. Your developer will need to implement this or find a 3rd party control as there isn't a standard tab control. It's not a difficult pattern to implement.
