Log all incoming requests to a Mobile App under App Services RRS feed

  • Question

  • One of my clients is having problems consuming a node.js API I've provided for them. Initially they were pointing to the incorrect URI and now it looks like they might be having TLS/SSL issues. I'd like more visibility on my end so I migrated from Mobile to App Services. I'm having problems getting around the logging/monitoring system.

Is there a way of viewing all requests to the Mobile App regardless of what endpoint they are pointing to?

  • There are two methods of doing this:

    1) Configure Diagnostic Logs to do request tracking.  The logs will be available in Azure Storage or on the filesystem, depending on the configuration.  Diagnostic Log configuration is available in your App Servie via the All Settings menu.

    2) Use a log aggregator and log everything to an external service - this could be Azure Storage, for example.  Personally, I use a combination of Winston, express-Winston and Winston-azure to get this combination.  (see https://github.com/ebuildy/winston-azure)

    Either will work.
