LCS 2005 SP1 (Outlook Contact pulled into MOC not Normalised by ABS) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Help , I am desperate to get this issue resolved.

LCS 2005SP1 SE with patch LCS2005-KB911996-x86-Usa1.msi installed to resolve issues including ABS Number Normalisation.

Phone integration enabled for MOC users via Remote Call Control on LCS & PBX

Desktop users have a variety of Desktops

Vista Business and Office System 2007

XP Pro SP2 with Office 2003

    The problem

Some users have in the excess of 2500 Contact in their Outlook Address book that have +44 or E164 number convention.

These contacts are pulled into the MOC but the number when attempting to dial is not normalised.

I would expect to see +441223XXX XXX to change 901223XXX XXX

It applies this ABS rule to numbers in AD.

I found this in the document below that makes me think I have missed something to make it work but not sure where to apply the normalisation to influence the Outlook Contacts list within MOC.

"Phone numbers from Outlook, (and/or given directly by the user from the UI), are normalized in run time by Communicator 2005,  using configurable normalization rules that are pushed to Communicator 2005 by Address Book service."

According to this extract their is configurable Normalisation Rule that can be

implemented to impact the Outlook Contacts in MOC.Where do we apply it and

    what do we put in.

    Thanks in advance Deon
