Macro works in one city and not in another. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is it safe to assume that if a macro for Word that manipulates documents' headers and what-not works in one city, but doesn't work in another, the code itself is flawless but the macro was either damaged while sending or relies on files from the original city's database?

Or could there be some other culprit? Where to look when diagnosing and trying to fix dysfunctional code that worked fine previously? Both computers run the same versions of word.

  • Are you going to post the errant code or do we have to guess?

  • I don't know what you mean by 'city's database' but I would look there.  I did an addin that worked several databases at different locations.  Although they claimed to be the same schema they were not.  I finally had to do a database checker that compared the schema and did a cursory data check.
