Question about error code 80070490

Question

Hello all,

I have the error code 80070490 appearing and I have NO cd\dvd to re-install windows vista.  I bought my PC when Circuit City went under and since it was a display model, it already had Vista on it.  I have no book, papers, etc..  

So my question is how do I repair it without a cd?  The Mr. Fixit tool was useless and I am ready to throw it out the window and go buy a new PC.  I need this PC for college and I am ready to cry.  Please advise.  Thanks you!

The OEM vendor (not the seller) can send you replacement recovery material for a small cost. Like if it's a HP then call HP with the model's number, etc..

They will usually sell it to cover the shipping cost.

I just find that odd that the seller didn't gived you that (even if a display, they un-packed it anyway, so the cd is somewhere in their backstore..)
