Workflow Activity Designer or Rehosted Workflow Window = Blend 4 RC crash :S RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I've been developing a Worklflow 4 based solution. For my activities I want to redesign the provided ActivityDesigner control. When I try to make a copy of the standard AD's Control Template, Blend 4 RC crashes.

    The other crash source is: when I try to open a Rehosted Workflow 4 Window (created from the standard VS 2010 Template and not modified) Blend 4 RC hangs up forever.

    This should not happen!

  • Hi there,

    We believe we have fixed the crashing issues around having a refernece to System.Activity.dll in the project for Blend 4 RTM. If you could share a simple repro, we can double check to be sure - unnir at microsoft dot com.

    Thanks,

  • Simple Repro:

    AD Designer Crash:
    - Create a WPF App project.
    - Include WF4 assemblies.
    - Add an empty Activity Designer to MainWindow:

    <Window x:Class="NeoCompTestClient.MainWindow"
      xmlns:na="clr-namespace:NeoComp.Activities;assembly=NeoComp.Activities"
      xmlns:sap="clr-namespace:System.Activities.Presentation;assembly=System.Activities.Presentation"
      xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"
      xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"
      Title="MainWindow" Height="350" Width="525" Loaded="Window_Loaded">
     <Grid>
      <sap:ActivityDesigner x:Name="Designer"/>
     </Grid>
    </Window>

    - Click Designer in Blend, choose Template - Create Copy from context menu.
    - Crash.

    Rehosted Workflow Crash:
    - Open WPF Rehosted Workflow Sample Project from MSDN Documentation in Blend.
    - Belnd hangs up forever.
