XML: Splitting up text RRS feed

  • Question

  • A client of ours sends us a CSV file for deliveries. Before, the city and state were separated into two fields, CITY and STATE.

    They've made a change on their end that have merged the two fields into one, CITY + STATE.

    Our XML coding has been set to the old way...

        <Map Col="I" Fld="Stop_2_City" Title="CITY" Validate="Required"/>
        <Map Col="J" Fld="Stop_2_State" Title="STATE" Validate="Required"/>

    What's the proper XML coding to split up CITY+STATE, taking the last two letters for the state, and the remainder for the city, then plugging them into the correct field?

  • As this is the forum for the Small Basic programming language, I can give a soliution in Small Basic, but I doubt that you want that. I think you can better look for an other forum, specific for XML.
