When enabling Macro's asking to save whenever opened RRS feed

  • Question

  • I’ve got an Excel workbook that has a set of VBA scripts that has recently started asking to save whenever it is just opened. This would not be a big deal, but we use Kofax Power PDF to attach it to a PDF form, it opens the Excel file, prints it to PDF then attaches it. But when it goes to close the Excel sheet, excel asks to save which kills the process.

I can duplicate by opening the excel file, saying “Enable Content” on the security warning for the Macros, and closing it, it will ask to save even though I’ve not done anything. Interestingly if I do not “Enable Content” it will not ask to save so I don’t think it is something in the sheet. But in troubleshooting I just started deleting the VBA code to find the offender and I deleted it all and it still asks to save each time.

It has not done this in the past so I think one of the updates might have caused this, but I don’t know how to work around it, any help would be greatly appreciated.
