    Good morning:

    I am working on
an application with Visual web developer 2010 ASP 4.0 VB, my application requires a lot of reports and I don't really know what would be the best way to
create all my reports and do it in efficient manner.

    I would appreciate your suggestions

    Thanks

    JP

Take a look at combit List & Label!

It uses a nice approach, there is a free edition, too... We're using it with .Net in some projects, and we are really happy about it!

The new version has some very nice new features, especially for .Net-Users:

If you are looking for a tool to generate reports, DevExpress' XtraReports Suite is pretty good.  It is not free but has a lot of export features that you might find useful if you need exporting capability.

If you are looking for a free solution, then you can work with Crystal Reports that comes with Visual Studio or if you are using SQL Server, you might want to look into SQL Server Reporting Services depending on your situation.

    Hi,

there are several types of reports (SQL Server Reporting Services, Crystal Reports, ...). Which one are you talking about?

I'm not an expert on SSRS but from what I heard my BI colleague talk about it it's better to have multiple small report (parts) available and have these combined and generate output when needed.

    Thanks Kris:

I guessing Crystal reports is a standard plataform for reporting, probably I will take that route, I am trying to get information now how to integrate Crystal reports with Visual web developer 2010.

If you or any one else knows how to do that I would appreciate help

    Thanks again

As most of the time there are already written quite some tutorials and pieces of information about such subjects: http://www.google.be/#sclient=psy-ab&hl=en&source=hp&q=crystal+reports+in+visual+studio+2010&pbx=1&oq=crystal+reports+in+visual&aq=1&aqi=g4&aql=&gs_sm=e&gs_upl=0l0l1l83l0l0l0l0l0l0l0l0ll0l0&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&fp=6c86ed3011bcb31e&biw=1920&bih=925.
