SharePoint Search issue with Chinese and Japanese characters

Question

Hi all, 

In our custom portal, we have multi-lingual support for JA-JP and ZH-CN languages. 

Is there any specific way in which the query text should be passed to the SearchExecutor object?

Actually, especially for JA-JP and ZH-CN it is not returning appropriate results.

Hi,

You can set the KeywordQuery.Culture to the Chinese or Japanese locale ID:

kq.Culture = System.Globalization.CultureInfo.GetCultureInfo("zh-CN").LCID;

Or

kq.Culture = System.Globalization.CultureInfo.GetCultureInfo("ja-JP").LCID;

Hi,

search does not result any rows when I make use of the culture in search api. Below Is the url with Thai characters in my document title and I am trying to search this document by giving Thai culture ID.

_api/search/query?querytext='พยัญชนะ'&culture=1054
