How to register dll correctly on 64 bit Windows Server 2012 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Guys,

I have a VB.Net class library I've written to resize images. I've ticked register for Com Interop and Make com visible in my project. I've registered the dll using regasm with the codebase and tlb switches. When I try to reference the object in my classic asp website like so "Set obj = Server.CreateObject("Rjpeg.ImageResizer.Rjpeg")", it says Server failed to Create Object.

I've tried everything I've done in the past but nothing works. I have used this dll on a Windows 7 64 bit pc and it worked just fine. Please advise me on what else I can try. I need to get this working very very soon.

  • No worries. I installed the .Net sdk and added the dll to the GAC and all works now. Oddly I had to disable 32 bit applications in the IIS application pool
