    Question

  • Hello all,

I have upgraded Sharepoint 2010 to Sharepoiint 2013, while configuring SP2013 products it keeps on fails so, i removed Sp2010 products then SP2013 configured but, i havent uninstalled Sp2010.

Then i upgraded wss content db into 2013 from powershell. now the web application is displaying at the top of the page it shows a small note "Experience all that SharePoint 2013 has to offer. Start now or Remind me later" there i clicked Start Now then it starts upgrade site collection at the end it shows an error

    Error:

The following sites are using templates that are not yet supported after upgrade:

    • http://MyServerName/app - #0

The following files have been customized from their default and may present some unexpected visuals or behavior after upgrade:

    • http://MyServerName/A/Shared Documents/Forms/template.doc - Reset page to default

       ...............

       ..................

    ....................

Reset specific pages to default to make the page lose customizations and any embedded data. Normally, you should do this only if you are having difficulty using the page after upgrade.

  • Hi jey,

It doesn’t mean that uninstall SharePoint server 2010, 2013 then install again, it’s actually that we need to uninstall, remove, add and install site template solutions using the commands as following:

    Uninstall-SPSolution

    Remove-SPSolution

    Add-SPSolution

    Install-SPSolution

    Best regards,

  • Thank you Tandel,

    http://www.sharepointnadeem.com/2014/01/sharepoint-following-sites-are-using.html

i already referred above link but, i cant understand below solution

"Uninstall > Remove > Add > Install. This had removed the previous site definition files (onet and template folder) from 14 hive and added latest files to 15 hive. When I copied the old files to 14 hive, the upgrade worked.
    "
can you please explain what to do above above explanation?

this link also same as like above.

  • he meant to say, your custom solution needs to be deployed in both 14 and 15 hives, so you need to uninstall existing WSP ==> remove them ==> Add them back and deploy them with -compatibilityLevel 14,15

    Install-SPSolution -Identity <Name_of_WSP> -CompatibilityLevel "14,15" -GACDeployment [-WebApplication …]
