    Is there any way I can get the instance of the desktop object from my hosted control? One was is to move up the hierarchy using Control.Parent but I dont want that hard coding. Kindly let me know if there is any other way.

    I don't know if i understand you in a correct way! but you could use WIN32API library it has many functions like:

    Win32API.FindWindowByID()

    Win32API.FindWindowByText()

    Win32API.FindWindowByPosition()

    if you need some examples i can feed you

  • The thing is that I need to call some methods of the desktop object, from my hosted control. For that I need to get the object instance. By using Win32API I can get the window handle but dont think we can get the object instance.
