  • Hi all,

I would like to know if Kinect v2 is able to return the area occupied by a skeleton and in case how to get it.

    Thank you

  • Please provide more detail to your scenario. Kinect already provides body tracking for up to 6 people within the field of view of the camera from .5 to 4.5 meters away. See BodyBasics sample from the SDK browser.

  • I mean.. Does skeleton tracking only provide information about joints or in some way is it possible to get the area occupied by skeletons and thus by people which are tracked?

  • Body tracking is only going to provide information with regards to joint information. If you want to determine space you need to process the depth information from the BodyIndexFrame and DepthFrame. The body index frame will provide you which depth pixels belong to a particular tracked index of a body and from there it is a 1 to 1 mask on the depth frame so you can look at min/max of the xy/depth data.
