BRE requires High Privilged SQL account (Account with create DB objects access) to access tables RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Experts,

I found a odd behavior of BRE with BizTalk Server 2013 R2, in which BRE was able to access database facts (tables) only using high privileged SQL account( Account with create permission on tables).

The same facts were working fine with BRE BizTalk 2010 using low priviliged SQL account.

Please help, is this expected behavior in BizTalk server 2013 R2?

  • Not sure what you're asking.

You can always reconfigure the BRE and database to return it to the out of the box permissions.

  • what error you are getting ?

Make sure RuleEngineUpdateService up and running.

Rule Engine update user should be part of your BizTalk application group.

  • Hi,

What I am understand from your query is you have created SQL user having some privileges, now with same privileges you are able to access BRE in BizTalk 2010, couple of triggers you can do.

    1) Using SQL management studio you can export User Role from old database to BTS 2013 R2 database

    2)  Not sure what do you mean by BRE BizTalk 2010, do you mean it BRE Composer Tool or Programmatically access the BRE in Orchestration or Custom .NET application.

Your more clarification would help in triaging more.

    Hope this Helps!!!
