Need Backup Success E-mail Alert for On-Premises Azure Backup Agent Backup RRS feed

  • We are using the Azure Backup Agent to backup files and folders and System State to a Recovery Services Vault and need a  "success" e-mail alert to be sent when backups succeed.  This is for on-premises backups. We do receive alerts for warnings and failures and we can see the success listed under monitoring / backup jobs but do not have a way to trigger success alerts within the Recovery Services vault framework.  Thank you in advance.

  • Looks like you can't receive alerts for successful backup jobs from the Recovery Services Vault, if you would use a Microsoft Azure Backup Server (MABS) then you could achieve this.

  • Leon, technically your answer seems to be correct in that you can not provide success alerts for on-premises MARS backups from the Azure portal.  Our workaround until this feature is added is to report backup success directly from the on-premises server using a powershell script described here:
