  • Is there a NEW NAME for “Windows Application” under Templates under “Visual Basic Projects” under “Project Types” under “New Projects” in Microsoft visual Studio Community 2017 Version 15.2 (26430.16) Release

    Microsoft .NET Framework Version 4.7.02053

Under post “Using Access database with Visual Basic”  the post by Quan Lee on Monday, april 22, 2013 5:11 PM  is where that word is used.

    I have found:

    Unit Test App (Universal Windows)

    Windows Forms App (.NET Framework)

    WPF App (.NET Framework)

    Blank App (Universal Windows)

    UNDER Windows Classic Desktop

    Windows Form App(.NET Framework)

    Empty Project (.NET Framework)

    Also

    Under Visual Studio Solutions

    Blank Solution

  • You seems very much busy to find errors in the Microsoft Documentation.

However, in version 2017 the former Windows Desktop template is now the WPF App. (.Net Framework).

Be aware at the 8 of august 2017 I don't know if it has tomorrow another name because names at Microsoft can change because of a marketing guys get a brilliant idea around that. (which often is not so brilliant)

Be aware, these forums are not by Microsoft employees (some are external hired to do the MSDN obligations).

For Microsoft you can contact Microsoft

  • Cor Ligthert,

    thanks.

I thought when I clicked on WPF App(.NET Framework) and VS2017 showed under Type: Windows Presentation Foundation Client application.

that meant it was part of a client/server application.

I hope this info do the trick.  and I won't need to ask more about this issue.

be real glad to move on to other bits of code.

    thanks again,

    Mark J
