Replace headers and footers RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

in what version of .net framework does this library work? And what do I need to do to change the page footer in a bunch of word documents? How can I differ from first page footer and footers for odd and even pages? What about different sections?

  • You'll need .NET 3.0.    The code snippets we shipped last year will show you how to do that.  You can convert them to use this API if you like.

  • Hi Johan,

As Kevin said you will need the .NET Framework 3.0, because this version of the framework implements the System.IO.Packaging namespace, and that namespace will be very important to build applications that uses Office and the Open  XML formats, well to change the page footer in different documents you can build some aplpication that will access and verify the relationships that target footers, if your application  find this relationships, it will modify as you wish the content inside the XML and replace it inside the container of the documents. There's a lot of demos on Office and XML developer center that shows how can you do that.

    best regards
