Accessing mapped network drive without a physical drive letter question RRS feed

  • Question

I'm mapping a network connection to sharepoint via the WNetAddConnection api and with no local drive letter assigned.

(this way the user never sees the connection in my computer and cannot access it via browsing)

How can I access this drive programatically with no letter assigned to it?

    Basically a "use connection"..

I'm sure it is mapping as I can see it in the Disconnect Network Drives dialog and I can unmap it using WNetCancelConnection by passing the sharename?

  • I'd expect that you should just use the UNC path.  It'll use whatever existing session it finds to the respective share and so will use the one you've setup.
