Alternate shell boot? Can't run anything

    Question

  • Hi, I selected the "Alternate shell boot" option in the System Configuration (I can't remember exactly the option name but it is something like that) then I rebooted the system.  After reboot, only a Command Prompt window appeared in the screen which I closed it then I'm unable to run anything, I got a black screen and that's it.  Even if I turn off the tablet and turn it on again.

What can I do in this case? How do I restore the Metro shell back? Should I restore the entire OS again?

I'm using Build Conference's Samsung Tablet.

    Thanks a lot in advace.

  • Hey there,

I believe the system includes a keyboard and dock system. Are you able to get to F8 options somehow? If you can, then there should be options for system restore or go to WinRE style command prompt to do additional recovery to see if you can get back to System Configuration.

    Regards,
