Windows Mobile 6.1 SDK RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I would like to develop an application for HTC Touch Diamond, which has Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional. I wonder if I can use Windows Mobile 6 SDK, or if I need to download Windows Mobile 6.1 SDK. If so, where can I download WM 6.1 SDK?

    Thanks for reading my thread,
    Sam

There's no Windows Mobile 6.1 SDK since it doesn't really expose anything new to developers, so 6.1 devices use the 6 SDK.  Though there are Windows Mobile 6.1 devices images available for download.

6.1 exists for both the smartphone devices (Windows Mobile Standard) and the Touch Screen devices (Windows Mobile Professional).  The Diamond is a Windows Mobile Professional device since it has a touch screen. So you will want the SDK for Windows Mobile Professional.

  • Hi again,

I know that Windows Mobile 6.1 is for SmartPhone only. Is that correct? If so, do I need to download and use Windows Moblie 6 SDK for Pocket PC(Professional) or for SmartPhone(standard)?

    Thanks,
    Sam
