How do I install SQL Server 2008 R2 on Server 2012? RRS feed

  • I have enabled 3.5 and below on the server but its still says it is not compatible with Server 2012.

  • HI there,

    I am sure you can install sql2008R2 on a windows 2012 server without any SP's. Make sure your bit value. You can install 32bit on a 64 bit machine. If your windows server is 2012 64 bit then it shouldn't be a problem.

    Service Pack 1 for SQL Server 2008 R2 is required to install on Windows Server 2012. For more information:

    Try a slipstream installation of SQL Server 2008 R2 + SP1.

    and what edition of SQL server are you installing ?

    what is the edition of the OS ?
