Exchange Server in an DAG environment keeps messages that are flagged to be rejected with .Net in the shadow queue until they expire. RRS feed

  • Hello,

we are seeing an odd behavior regarding rejected messages and the shadow queue in an DAG environment.

We are calling the RejectMessage method on the ReceiveMessageEventSource object in the Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Transport.Smtp namespace in the OnEndOfData event of SmptReceiveAgent.

The messages that are refused on this way stay in the shadow queue until they expire, on the contrary messages that are refused by the recipient filter of exchange itself are directly removed from the shadow queue.

Is there any way to achieve the same behavior that the Exchange recipient filter shows by rejecting via .Net?

    Thanks in advance.
