Hi everyone, Usually to identify a user, we use the IP address. How do identify a mobile user? Is there any IP or like that to detect from Mobile Phone and PocketPC?? Thanks, *EverLearner*

If device makes direct HTTP connection then you are able to get IP address of device or at least IP of gateway server through which device connects. If device comes through WAP gateway then server variable REMOTE_ADDR contains WAP gateway address and variable X_NETWORK_INFO contains mobile device's actual IP address.

You should use network functions to determine host(s) binded to IP address when you are using X_NETWORK_INFO header. Usually you don't get mobile number from request headers because most of WAP gateways are blocking appropriate header. Keep in mind that WAP gateway sends to HTTP server three different kind of headers: 1) headers of mobile device WAP browser with original values 2) headers of mobile device WAP browser with changed/corrigated values 3) headers of WAP gateway itself Some device headers may have no original value and some headers will be blocked by WAP gateway. If you have no special contract with mobile operators to get user's phone number then better expect that you don't have a way to get this information automatically without asking user's acceptance.
