  • I'm just wondering, can you apply a fading effect to ALL windows applications with VB? I mean ALL of them.

  • Hi,

    I wonder if you want is something like Windows XP when shutting down, if so, you should check this article: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/dotnet/DimmerForm.aspx this component allows you to do that easily, even when it's in C# you can just reference it in your VB application.

    Hope it helps, regards

  • What i really mean is this:

     Dim iCount As Integer
            For iCount = 10 To 90 Step +10
                Me.Opacity = iCount / 100
                Me.Refresh()

    Can I apply this to all windows like it is in vista? I.E: A window appears (for instance, a download dialogue) and it fades in and out like it does in vista.

  • Hi,

    The link I posted does that effect, in fact, I'm not sure if you can do this on other windows without using some API's but the easier way to do this is to create a form that occupies all the screen at top most of all other windows and then apply the effect with the code you posted. This will not fade indeed the other windows, but will give you the desired effect.

    Hope it helps, regards
