Renaming namespace ConsoleApplication1

    Question

  • I have created the solution and project with default name ConsoleApplication1. How can I change this name without creating a new project/solution?

    Thanks,

    Mike

  • Place the caret over the ConsoleApplication1 word, then press <F2>. This will start the Rename operation. Type the new name, then press the Apply button or <Enter>.

In order to change the default namespace for your future classes, go to Properties window of your project.

  • Hi,

    Theres more:

You need to go to project properties to change the Assemblyname as well.

The folder in the filesystem will not be renamed. It needs to be changed manually as well.

Personally, I often just create a new project and move the files over. Its faster.
