How To Exit the Exception Dialog RRS feed

  • Question

  • Since there isn't a button to do so, how do you exit the exception dialog in Expression Blend 4 when you encounter an error other than to exit Expression Blend all together? I am surprised that I didn't find anyone else experience the same problem. I just installed SP1 and have the same problem.

  • I'm not sure there is a way. What is the exception? If there is no other option it is probably an unrecoverable error and continuing on would be meaningless.

If you can reproduce the issue we would like to hear about it so we can look into it. You can run blend with the /ExcetionLog flag to capture more information.

  • I will add the flag and submit the results.

In the meantime, I would suggest that soneone look at the dialog's design and determine why there isn't a exit button.

  • I can't speak for whomever originally designed it this way, but the problem is that when you hit an unhandled error/exception, there isn't necessarily anything meaningful you can do. Maybe I am not thinking of the correct dialog/situation however.
