Is it possible to develop XBOX software with XNA that uses a Kinect Sensor? RRS feed

  • I've spent a couple of hours looking into whether there is a way of accessing the Kinect hardware using XNA, in a deployed application to the XBOX (note: not to a Windows environment as I know this is possible). 

    Has anyone got any experience in how this could work? or is it just plain impossible? (given that XNA will reach end of life in April 2014, presumably there will be no incentive from MS to ever provide this functionaility to the Indie community?)

  • Also - the work I need to do is POC (Proof of concept) and so will never be published as a commercial product, so I'm open to hacking suggestions! :)

  • If memory serves correct this is not possible on "indie" games :(
