Distributed setup for two machines RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I have two virtual servers (4 CPU, 8 GB RAM, 200 GB user disk ) to dispose for my load test setup. Which is the best way to set up:

    • VS Ultimate
    • Controller
    • Agent(s)
    • SQL DB (for saving measurements)

...on those two machines? For example:

    • Machine 1: VS Ulimate, controller and SQL DB
    • Machine 2 Agent

    or

    • Machine 1: VS Ulimate, controller and Agent
    • Machine 2 SQL DB

    Thanks in advance!

  • You should use machine 1 for that. :)

  • Stefan Stoffe,

It won't make any sense for me to install controller and agent on the same machine. Remains option one.

What I suggest is that you install VS Ultimate on your client machine(DEV Box that you use) and configure machine 1 as controller to execute tests through Agent(Machine 2) as well collect and store data.

  • Hi TejasJ

Thanks for your answer. So your suggestion is this setup:

    • Machine 1: Controller and SQL DB
    • Machine 2: Agent

However, I have to use one of the servers for the dev environment as well, should I use machine 1 och 2 for that?
