Outlook.com - redirecting new tabs in IE9

Question

Hi all,

I'm having a weird problem when using outlook.com over hotmail.  Whenever I have outlook.com open in an IE9 tab, and a I open a new tab (which opens my homepage - Google) the page is automatically redirected to outlook.com!

Goes away as soon as I switch back to hotmail.

Any ideas, as I quite like the look of outlook.com?
