SQL Server 2008 Express RRS feed

  • Question

  • Microsoft SBS 2008 includes SQL Server 2008 Express edition.  According to what I have been able to determine from Microsoft's documentation, SQL 2008 Express is limited to one cpu.  Does this mean one core of a quad-processor such as an Intel Xeon 5640 or will SQL 2008 Express take advantage of all 4 cores?

  • SQL Server express will  take advantage of all 4 cores in case of a quad core CPU. 1 CPU limitation for SQL express is for a single physical processor (socket), in case of a multi core cpu all cores will be used.
