Mixing debug engines RRS feed

  • Question

  • I know this was asked before but no one answered this.

I want to write a custom debugger for a scripting language hosted inside an x86 application.

The debug engine for the scripting language should work along with the native debug engine, the target being a switch to the script debug engine when a script function is called.

How can this be done? I am sure this can be done because i have seen it done.

Any pointers would be grealy appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Catalin

  • Hi Catalinc400,

I don't believe it can be done by creating a Custom Debug Engine using Visual Studio SDK. A debug engine (DE) is a component that allows debugging of particular run-time architectures. There is typically only one DE implementation per run-time environment.
