C# GUI looks different on different OSes! RRS feed

  • Hello, I have made a C# winforms GUI. The overall GUI looks old when run on my pc. I have windows 10 and I tried with .net 4.6.2 and 4.8 with no difference. When i tried on windows 7, the GUI looks much better. Refer to the image at the following link:


    I would like to have the effect seen in Windows 7.

    Please advise. Regards

    You would need to create a custom button to have a button under windows 10 have the appearance of a windows 7 button as the standard button's appearance is controlled by the operating system it's running on. A compromise is use Flat Style to get an older appearance for the button which may not be an acceptable appearance either but worth trying as it take a few button clicks in the button's property window.
