transparent userform RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm wondering if it's possible to code the userform with VB.NET so it has a transparent background but all controls are still visible.

Or alternatively, make the userform take the form of a picture.

For example: Say i have a picture of an apple, i want the userform to be the picture of the apple, not the background.

i've seen this been done before on Paradox's keygen.
It has a transparent background with no borders, and the form is moveable.

I've tried using FormBorderStyle=None and BackColor = Transparent but it won't support transparency and formborderstyle=none won't support moving the userform around.

Any body have any links or ideas.

You can make a control into any shape you like (and a form is also a control) by setting a GraphicsPath as the Region for the control. Here's an example: Shaped Windows Forms and Controls
