How do I determine a remote computer IP address when using remote desktop connection RRS feed

    I would like to use remote desktop connection to connect with a friend's remote computer over the internet.  When signing on to remote desktop connection I have to enter the remote computer's name or IP address.  Since my friend is connected to the internet via his ISP he does not have a public IP address (at least that is what my limited understanding tells me).  Which forum might best address my question?  Thanks!

    Thank you for your post!  Unfortunately I am not able to determine which forum or newsgroup is best suited for your question at hand.  Can you provide me a little more detail in regards to the operating system you are using?
