How to use Visual Studio's Configuration Manager? RRS feed

    Currently my VS 2008 has 2  Active solution configuration,

    1. Debug

    2. Release

    I added a new active solution configuration called "WebHosting" but I don't really know how to use it.

    I have added the following in my codes:

    #if WebHosting

    Do Something...

    #endif

    However these codes are not executing when I change to WebHosting active solution configuration.

    Is there something I am not doing right?

    Hi,

    If you are using C#, please add WebHosting in project properties -> build -> General -> Conditional compilation symbols.

    I'm looking forward for your test result.

    Thanks Xiao Cheng.

    I got the result I wanted. But do you why there is a Config Mgr if it is not going to do that for me automatically? Basically what is VS config mgr for?
