How to add navigation functionality in to Blank App template project? RRS feed

  • Question

  •   I've created a small app with blank app template. Now I need to add another pageControl to it. How do I add navigation functionality? My page should go from "default.html" to "page2.html". I studied http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/windows/apps/hh465238  quickstart doc to know what is single page navigation. But it uses Navigation template, which itself includes all the functionality.

I've copied navigator.js file and 2nd page (which is search contract page control) is included using WinJS.UI.pages.define(.....) functionality.

  • Why do you want to start with a Blank Template and hand-code everything? Why don't you start with a "Navigation Template" that builds everything for you? If you still want to do it from scratch, you can create a Navigation Template and observe how the "default.html" includes Navigator.js and then creates a <div> placeholder for loading pages as "parts". That way you will understand that the "home.html" gets loaded as the default page in the navigator template.

    Hope it helps.
