Web Proxy Auto-Discovery Service

Hello everyone,

I have an asp.net application developed using Visual studio 2.0, I got some "object reference" errors.
I checked my code but their is no error.
I check the event viewer, I found the below entry:

The WinHTTP Web Proxy Auto-Discovery Service service entered the stopped state.

The error occured on the same time of the above entry (for example 02:55:33 PM).

Does the above error prevents users from accessing a website?

If you got null reference exception(some "object reference" errors) the stack trace should be pointing to any particular line of code.Can you post those error messages for more clarity.

What is the use of the "WinHTTP Web Proxy Auto-Discovery Service "?

I am getting object reference errors everytime this service is stopped.

Error detail: Object reference not set to an instance of an object
Concerning the environement, we have load balancing using ISA.
