Windows service fails to restart after changing windows logon password RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hello All,

I have a general question i am not sure if some one has tried this use case ?
Scenario : I have one windows service running with Admin privileges with the option "This Account".
Mean time if i change the password of my login, now if i try to restart my windows service it fails  to start, even after restart of machine it fails to start. If i change the service password same as login again than only it will start.it doesn't take password automatically.

My question is that "does SCM takes care of the password changes or it will be a manual effort to change the password of service ?"

    Regards
    CSJ

  • If you the password on a service account, you have to change the password for the service as well. It doesn't happen automatically.
