Run Team Build over non Linux platform RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have Make file that compiles my solution on a Linux machine.

I would like to know what is the best practice to run this Make from Windows platform triggered by Team Build.

Also, how can I update my Build Steps on the Team Build on the progress of the compilation on the Linux machine.

    Thanks in advance,

    Shmulik.

  • Hello Shmulik,

Could you please clarify some issues? It is helpful for the question.

       1. I would like to know what is the best practice to run this Make from Windows platform triggered by Team Build.

Can you compile Make File in the Windows Platform?

If you already have tools (programs) can be used on Windows like on Linux,

       Here is way.

You can try to customize the team build to invoke make tools.

      2. Also, how can I update my Build Steps on the Team Build on the progress of the compilation on the Linux machine.

I am little confused. If there is any misunderstanding please let me know.

Do you want to control the Team Build Steps from the progress on a Linux machine?

     Good luck.
