website 404 - File or directory not found RRS feed

  • Question

  • After successfully created a new website using the new management portal, i uploaded an index.html page and set it up to be the default page of the site. I was able to preview the site using the {mysite}.azurewebsites.net url provided in the dashboard. I updated the DNS records of my domain by creating a new CNAME, like www pointed to {mysite}.azurewebsites.net. After multiple tries, I get a 404 - File or directory not found. Please help.

  • Hi,

All websites are moved into reserved instances at once.

    Thanks!

  • Hi,

We don't support CNAME for our shared free option. We support it for the Resreved Instance option (found on the SCALE link in the portal). If you choose to use that, please make sure to create the CNAME before you define the URL in the CONFIGURE section.

    Thanks!
