very slow downloads from https://my.visualstudio.com/Downloads RRS feed

  • Question

  • As a subscriber to Visual Studio professional, when I'm downloading from "https://my.visualstudio.com/Downloads..." it is very slow. But when downloading from any other site my downloads are much more faster.

I'm downloading from home local network. See snapshots attached as an example.

1- Today downloaded files/softs with approximately 1100 Ko/s from different sites

2- But from https://download.my.visualstudio.com it was at about less than 50 Ko/s

Please advise. I have already contacted My.Visualstudio support but they said it is related to my local network. Unfortunately I'm not agree with this analyse. Please help. Thank you.

  • Hi,

I am downloading some .exe files after sign in https://my.visualstudio.com/subscriptions (I'm a subscriber of MSDN).
And I am having the same experience as you. It is too slow, its speed is at kbps (at Mbps in other sites).
I don't remember when it was fast, but it was surely fast. Something wrong is on some MS servers, at least NOW.

    Regards,

    Ashidacchi

  • Hi gvch,

Welcome to the MSDN forum and thank you for your feedback.

According to your detail information, I tried to download the files from https://download.my.visualstudio.com and https://download.microsoft.com, the speed from My.Visualstudio is slower, like you and  Ashidacchi, sorry for this inconvenience.

Since our forum is to discuss the Visual Studio WPF/SL Designer, Visual Studio Guidance Automation Toolkit, Developer Documentation and Help System, and Visual Studio Editor, this issue is the feedback of this My.Visualstudio Downloads page, I will help you move this thread to the appropriate forum for a more professional support, thank you for your understanding.

If you have any other issues about the VS IDE in the future, please feel free to let us know.

    Best regards,

    Sara
