How do I report an error in Windows 8?

    Question

  • Hello,

I have found a serious error in the WinRT and I want to file it to the Microsoft. How can I do it?

    Best regards

  • It depends on what the error is about and what you need from the report:

If you just want to report it you can post in an appropriate forum and we'll pick it up for investigation in future versions.

If you need individual help working around it or if you need a fix in a released product then please open a case with Microsoft Support. For Windows Store app development issues you can do so at http://getsupport.microsoft.com . For other technologies see http://support.microsoft.com .

You will not be charged for a case where the root cause is a Microsoft bug.

  • When I used the link, it asked me how I would like to pay.  I guess there isn't an option for "I think this is a MS bug, I only want to use this method if it is"?  ;)

For now, I'll post to the forum and see what happens.

    Cheers,
