Power tools and security groups

  • How can we attribute TFS power tools privileges to some groups and not others. For instance, when my "Contributors " group fie VS, I don't want them to be able to edit work items with process editor. I need to keep this privilege to admins of collection only.

  • AFAIK, any one can download the power tools, but only users with the right level of permissions can use them. For instance user A can download Power tools which gives them the process template editor, but if user A does not have view instance level information and team project administrator permission them they will not be able to modify the process template.

Please refer to this link for complete mapping of group to tfs permission and description. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms252587.aspx
